Challenge
BorgWarner was faced with the challenge that the time pressure for the delivery of finished goods was extremely high. A pragmatic solution was sought to solve this problem.
Problem solution: Cross-Docking
In order to be able to tackle the problem quickly and pragmatically, the decision was made to integrate two new warehouse monitors.
- Deliveries can be grouped in the administrative monitor.
- In the operational monitor, formed groups are picked and VDA labels are printed. Both stock and pallets delivered from production but not yet put away are taken into account.
Special attention was paid to supporting the warehouse staff. Thus, emphasis was placed on the ergonomics and usability of the operational monitor. Our graphic design studio LP MobileGRAFIX was also used to optimise usability.

- Goods issue bookings are now recorded much faster.
- At the same time, stock accuracy has been increased considerably.
- A further cost saving results from the temporal separation of the planning of the shipping from the operative picking and loading.
