Goodstock: The SAP EWM Festival

4 songs for solving challenges in the warehouse

In 1969, Woodstock shaped an entire attitude to life – music, community and a completely new experience. With the web seminar “GoodStock: The SAP EWM Festival”, we are building on this idea: Instead of rock music, we are putting the spotlight on the challenges in intralogistics. Under the motto “Let’s Rock the Stock”, we present a web seminar in a festival atmosphere that not only informs, but also inspires. Four “songs” – i.e. four specific practical examples – show how we can use SAP EWM rocked concrete challenges of our customers.

In around 15 minutes per topic, our LogiPlus consultants present solutions to key challenges in the warehouse and production environment: from flexible control of a wide range of warehouse technologies with SAP EWM and MFS, seamless Kanban integration in the production environment and automated returnable packaging management with SAP EWM to production supply with trolleys and tugger trains. Compact, practical and to the point – without lengthy theory, but with real insights from projects.

Participants benefit from valuable impulses for their own SAP EWM projects: They will see how very specific challenges and processes can be made more efficient, flexible and automated, which best practices have proven themselves and where the greatest potential lies. Get concrete ideas and inspiration in a relaxed festival atmosphere.

Web seminar part 1

Flexibly networked: Control any warehouse technology with SAP EWM MFS

For many automation solutions, it is crucial that the warehouse management system can communicate flexibly with the plant technology. SAP EWM with MFS makes it possible to connect the direct control of certain systems via standardized telegram messages.

The ability to integrate new technologies such as shuttle systems, conveyor technology or autonomous robots without major integration effort is a key success factor in logistics.

In this presentation, we will show you how flexible such a system is and what advantages it offers.

Key topics:

  • What is MFS?
  • Telegram messages explained simply
  • Examples from practice
  • Flexibility and future security as key benefits

Web seminar part 2

Seamless Kanban integration in Embedded EWM - Automated replenishment processes for production

Efficient material supply is a decisive success factor in production. With the integration of Kanban processes in SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), replenishment processes can be fully automated. Status changes to Kanban containers automatically trigger warehouse tasks that are created and confirmed directly – without manual intervention. In this presentation, we will show how companies can use this to simplify their production supply, optimize inventories and reduce throughput times.

Key topics:

  • Challenges in the supply of replenishment in production
  • Kanban in production logistics – a brief overview
  • Presentation of the solution in Embedded EWM and process logic
  • Implementation options: Fiori and RF
  • Example process: from Kanban signal to warehouse order
  • Advantages of the solution

Web seminar part 3

Efficient use of trolleys and carts in intralogistics with SAP EWM

Trolleys and dollies have become an integral part of modern intralogistics. They are used in a wide range of scenarios – whether for direct order picking or as a flexible interim storage solution. Depending on the process requirements, they can be used flexibly in different scenarios. A practical look at selected possible applications shows the extent to which SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) already supports these processes as standard – and where individual extensions may be necessary.

Key topics:

  • What SAP offers on the subject of trolley picking
  • What approach does Logiplus take to mapping trolley picking?
  • Advantages of the LogiPlus approach
  • Possible applications and scenarios

Web seminar part 4

Automated returnable packaging management with SAP EWM to increase efficiency

Returnable goods such as pallets, containers or crates are indispensable in many industries. Correct handling reduces costs, prevents losses and ensures stable supply chains. In general, two perspectives are relevant: internal inventory management in own warehouses, implemented with a LogiPlus solution, and external account management with customers, suppliers and freight forwarders, for which an SAP add-on exists.

In this presentation, we will show the different approaches. However, we will focus on the LogiPlus approach to automated internal inventory management with SAP EWM – including requirements, implementation and specific added value.

Key topics

  • Why professional loan management?
  • Two approaches at a glance:
    • Internal inventory management (LogiPlus solution)
    • External account management (SAP add-on)
  • Internal perspective: Automatic inventory management in SAP EWM
    • Requirements, process design, implementation
    • Benefits
  • Advantages & examples from practice
