By integrating AutoStore into existing warehouse processes, it can make the most of its advantages in terms of speed.
Within 2 days, companies can work with and test AutoStore in SAP EWM.
AutoStore can become a game changer in conjunction with SAP EWM if the integration is holistic, not only from a technical point of view, but also from a logistics and user perspective.
Although some of the AutoStore integrators offer dedicated middleware solutions, this leads to many disadvantages. A direct connection to SAP EWM is therefore recommended.
In general, there are two types of direct connection: Task Interface and Bin Interface. As the bin interface has become less relevant due to technological developments, we will only address the task interface below.
In general, it is very important not to consider the integration of an automatic trade such as AutoStore as an isolated IT project, but to approach it holistically from a logistics perspective in order to ensure endto-end processes for greater efficiency and productivity.
This is why integration into the overall warehouse processes is essential so that AutoStore can develop its full potential. Are you dealing with pick & pack or pick & pass processes, for example?
We therefore always recommend analysing the existing logistics processes in order to be able to map the AutoStore processes specifically for the respective workplace and process. You are welcome to contact us for a free PRECHECK site visit.
User integration is also essential. Employees at the workplace, at the AutoStore port, need a very intuitive and efficient way of operating and interacting with the system.
At LogiPlus, we use UI5 dialogues that are individually tailored to the respective workplace. For example, with our LP EasyScale add-on we have also integrated counting scales and checkweighers into the AutoStore port.
The general aim is to streamline and speed up the workstation dialogue individually for each workstation and user. This supports two of the key benefits of AutoStore – speed and productivity.
