More Efficient Picking and Shipping Processes with SAP EWM

In its webinar, LogiPlus will present real-world examples of picking, packing, and the management of goods outbound

“Efficient Picking with SAP EWM: Revolutionize Your Warehouse with Modern, Practical Solutions—from Picking to Shipping”

Ludwigshafen, June 30, 2026 – Modern warehouse processes require close integration of order picking, packing, and goods-out. A webinar hosted by LogiPlus Consulting GmbH focused on how SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM) can provide end-to-end digital support for these processes. Using real-world examples, the speakers demonstrated solutions for hands-free picking, digital packing stations, and real-time outbound control. This clearly illustrated how efficiency, transparency, and user-friendliness can all be improved in warehouse processes.

Rising shipment volumes, a shortage of skilled workers, and shorter delivery times are increasing the pressure on companies to continuously optimize their warehouse processes. Order picking, in particular, is one of the core warehouse processes in which errors, data discrepancies, and inefficient workflows can have a direct impact on productivity and customer satisfaction.

Live survey shows a need for more real-time transparency

As part of the webinar, a live survey on transparency in outbound processes was conducted. This provided an insightful snapshot of the current situation in the field. Only 4.8 percent of participants stated that they are already able to display their outbound processes with full transparency in real time. 52.4 percent rated their transparency as very good but see further potential for optimization. While 40.5 percent of respondents generally have transparency in their processes, they still rely on manual work and experience data silos in some areas. Only 2.4 percent reported low transparency regarding order volume and actual workload.

The results show that many companies have already laid an important foundation for transparent outbound processes. At the same time, there remains a significant need for solutions that support operational decisions based on up-to-date process data and reduce manual steps.

Real-World Examples from the SAP EWM Environment

With more than 30 years of experience in intralogistics and SAP warehouse solutions, LogiPlus founder Thilo Matheis began by highlighting key challenges in warehouse logistics. Together with Raphael Barreto, COO of SAP EWM Experts, he used customer projects as examples to demonstrate how companies can sustainably improve their warehouse processes using SAP EWM and intelligent add-on solutions.

Hands-Free Picking and Mobile Processes

The second session focused on hands-free order picking with ProGlove and SAP EWM. The presentation featured various wearables from market leader ProGlove, as well as LogiPlus add-ons designed to specifically improve the usability of mobile processes for warehouse employees.
In addition, various technological approaches to mobile data entry (MDE) were presented and evaluated—ranging from SAP Fiori to SAP Screen Personas to SAP ITS Mobile. The presentations were supplemented by several live demonstrations, including one on multi-order picking.

Real-Time Outbound Control

The session concluded with a focus on outbound management. Matheis presented the two LogiPlus solutions, LP EasyDashboard and LP EasyWarehouseManager. These solutions provide companies with real-time visibility into all warehouse processes and support the flexible management of outbound activities via intuitive dashboards. Barreto demonstrated the practical application with a live demo

“Efficient order picking results from the interplay of workload management, mobile processes, and system-guided workflows within SAP EWM,” says Thilo Matheis, describing the key success factors.

“For mobile applications to be widely adopted and to perform effectively in the warehouse, it is crucial that employees are guided through picking and packing processes using intuitive dialogs and without any disruption in the workflow,” adds Raphael Barreto.

With this webinar, LogiPlus continued its series of webinars on SAP EWM. The focus was on practical approaches to optimizing picking, packing, and goods-out processes.

The recording of the webinar is now available to anyone interested.
