First meeting of the AWF working group "Warehouse Management with SAP" at Heidelberger Druck

“The first working session was a complete success. As an introduction to the working group, we first looked at the different SAP EWM solutions in order to find the perfect approach for each individual company. The joint development of solution approaches, but above all the exchange of experiences, offers the participants an incredible amount of input with which the implementation of SAP EWM can be carried out successfully and smoothly. Our aim is to help AWF members to map their company-specific business requirements and at the same time take advantage of all the benefits of a future-oriented and efficient SAP warehouse solution.” Thilo Matheis sums up the first two days of the workshop.

“However, in order to successfully introduce SAP EWM, it is essential to actively involve your own employees in the warehouse along the way. That’s why the topics of change management and user acceptance also played an important role in this first workshop,” adds Matheis.

The discontinuation of the SAP WM and SAP EWM on SCM solutions and the resulting need to migrate to SAP EWM S/4HANA is of particular concern to many companies. More and more SAP user companies are facing the challenge of mapping and optimising their warehouse management and logistics processes in SAP EWM. Challenges and questions arise regarding the right SAP solution, the appropriate approach and how the changeover will ultimately succeed smoothly. These decisions need to be weighed up in terms of benefit orientation, functionality, costs, available resources, corporate strategy and the respective company situation in intralogistics.

The aim of the working group is to promote and jointly develop innovative solutions and best practices in workshops in order to master the individual challenges of the participating companies.

The upcoming regular working sessions always take place on site at the participating companies. The next workshop will take place on 4 and 5 December at Hansgrohe in Schiltach in the Black Forest.
