The SAP EWM experts from LogiPlus are looking forward to participating in the SAP Innovation Day Warehouse and Transportation Management on November 14, 2024 at the SAP University in St. Leon-Rot. In addition to an exhibition stand, the SAP intralogistics specialists from Ludwigshafen will be giving an exciting presentation together with their long-standing customer CLAAS. It will be about worldwide SAP EWM rollouts with the aim of taking production supply to a new level globally.
The presentation entitled “How CLAAS has transformed production logistics globally with SAP EWM optimised: Rollout Tour 2018-2024” will take place on November 14 from 11:30 am to 12:15 pm and will be moderated by Jörg Rzechtalski from SAP. Henning Wortmann (Global IT – Team Leader Purchasing & Logistics, CLAAS KGaA mbH) and Axel Kunkelmann, CSO of LogiPlus, will be on stage to report on this rollout tour and answer questions from the audience.
The presentation offers valuable insights into the practice of production logistics and shows how the standardisation of processes through innovative SAP solutions contributes to increasing efficiency.
Optimisation of production logistics at CLAAS with SAP EWM
CLAAS, the global market leader for agricultural machinery, has migrated its production logistics at various international locations from SAP WM to SAP EWM optimised. The aim of the long-term project was to combine the different local requirements and create standardised and flexible processes using a global EWM rollout template.
LogiPlus and CLAAS jointly developed a global SAP EWM template, which was successfully rolled out at the sites in Germany, France, the USA and Hungary. Participants in the presentation will gain exclusive insights into the strategic direction of warehouse management at CLAAS and learn how the SAP WM migration and the optimisation of production supply were implemented over several years.
Integration of automation solutions and external service providers at CLAAS
A particular focus of the presentation was on the topic of integration. Among other things, the focus was on the integration of automation solutions in SAP EWM, the integration of external service providers into the CLAAS system and the introduction of supermarkets in the production facilities. These measures made a decisive contribution to optimizing processes and helped CLAAS to increase the transparency and efficiency of global production logistics.
The global rollout at CLAAS was not just a technological project, but a fundamental transformation of the logistics processes. Henning Wortmann uses the example of integrating external service providers to explain the benefits: “Integrating external service providers into our SAP system creates transparency and optimised production logistics.”
