Exchange of experience and practical knowledge transfer in the AWF "Warehouse Management with SAP" working group

The first meeting of the AWF working group is to be held on the 18th and 19th of September at Heidelberger Druck

With the migration to SAP S/4HANA and the termination of SAP WM and SAP EWM SCM, many companies are facing the task of reorganising their warehouse management for the future. In order to support this process and to enable exchange with experts as well as with other SAP user companies, AWF founded the working group “Warehouse Management with SAP” in June 2023. Interested companies still have the opportunity to register for this now.

More and more SAP users are facing the challenge of migrating and optimising their warehouse management and logistics processes in SAP EWM. But which SAP EWM solution suits the company’s specific requirements best? Which approach is the right one brownfield or greenfield? How should the warehouse processes be optimised to get the most out of the solution? How can a smooth changeover be achieved and which approach offers the most optimisation potential for the warehouse? This decision has to be considered in terms of utility orientation, functionality, costs, available resources, corporate strategy and the specific corporate situation in intralogistics.

In this exclusive working group, the focus is on the challenges of the members and their solutions. The members can actively shape the focus at the meetings and benefit from the comprehensive expertise of the technical leaders of this working group: Thilo Matheis, CEO at the SAP EWM experts of LogiPlus Consulting, and Dr.-Ing. Markus Nave, Managing Director of MALORG GmbH.

“In the working group, members also have the chance to interact with other companies that may have similar requirements or have already migrated successfully. You can learn best practices and customisations that will help you meet your specific business needs. The exchange of experiences, networking and training opportunities in the community help to make your migration projects more successful and maximise the benefits of an effective SAP solution for your warehouse management,” says SAP EWM pioneer Thilo Matheis, describing the benefits of this AG.

The regularly held working sessions always take place at the participating companies’ premises. Heidelberger Druck invites you to the first workshop on 18th-19th of September in Wiesloch. The focus will be on implementation methodology, change management and user acceptance. The working group still has places available if companies are interested, they can find out more and register on the AWF website.

The working group is aimed towards manufacturing companies and trading companies with distinctive warehouse logistics. “With the outlined topic, we address managers and specialists from the areas of logistics, warehouse and material flow planning, warehouse management and control,” says Matheis, defining the target group, but also explicitly addressing SAP implementation managers, IT managers, IT project managers, SAP key users and SCM business experts who are interested in setting up, controlling and optimising modern warehouse logistics concepts with SAP applications.
